Now accepting entries
Boningtons is a leading UK auction house specialising in Asian art. We have recently held several hugely successful, high profile sales of Asian ceramics and works of art and have developed an extensive client base of collectors for such works both in the UK, Europe, America and Asia.
Boningtons is also committed to promoting interest in Asian Art & Culture and has recently organised some extremely notable events in collaboration with the British Museum, Asia House and Coutts Bank. Such events have been led by our Asian Art Specialist, Dr Iside Carbone, who is a recognised authority on Asian Art & Culture, regularly lecturing at leading academic institutions.
This high level of in house expertise and commitment to research has resulted in some very significant results being achieved by Boningtons in the saleroom. Sale highlights have included everything from a 19th century Chinese jade bangle, sold for £29000, to an elaborately carved Chinese hardwood settee, exhibited at the 1924 British Exhibition, which realised £15000.
2013 alone has also seen some strong prices achieved from Asian lots, attesting to the continued strength of the market, not least a Japanese Shibayama Hardwood Cabinet, sold for £4600, a Chinese three piece silver tea set, sold for £3800, and a pair of Chinese Canton famille rose vases, sold for £2600.
Boningtons is now accepting entries for its forthcoming Asian Art sale which will coincide with Asian art week in London. The sale will be marketed globally and include live online internet bidding, which regularly sees international bidders participating in the sale from around the world, including Asia, thereby ensuring that every lot on offer reaches its full potential.
