Our Specialist Valuers are able to offer professional valuations for Sales, Probate, Insurance and Family Division and are always on hand to appraise and advise on any item that you bring in, free of charge, with no obligation to sell.

Shaban Munir, Senior Partner & Valuer

Shaban Munir Shaban Munir, Managing Director, has been passionate about Art and Antiques his whole life and has over 15 years experience working within the trade. His extensive knowledge covers a huge variety of subjects, specialising in Asian Art, Books, Pictures, Furniture and Works of Art.

Louise Asser Louise Asser, our Sales and Marketing Director, has been involved in marketing and selling for the total of her career, where she has achieved success on a number of high profile launches. She is well versed in connecting the right buyers to the right product both nationally and internationally.

Guy Wisbey, Lead Auctioneer & Junior Partner

Guy WisbeyLead Auctioneer Guy Wisbey has graced the rostrum for over 20 years and in this capacity has developed excellent general knowledge. However, he has a particular passion for antique Toys, for which Boningtons hold bi-annual specialist auctions, ceramics, collectables and memorabilia.

Gregory Tong, Senior Valuer

Gregory TongGregory is renowned for his militaria expertise but also possesses unrivalled knowledge of jewellery, coins, silver, stamps, clocks and watches. Gregory has been responsible for the sale of many significant private collections of coins and medals.  He recently discovered an extremely rare Queen Anne 'Vigo' gold coin, sold at Boningtons for £280,000.  The coin's worth was unknown to the vendor but fortunately it was spotted by Gregory among a collection of other coins of low value.  

Dr Iside Carbone, Asian Art Specialist

Dr Iside CarboneDr Carbone is a specialist in Chinese art, with over 15 years of experience in this field. With a solid background in Chinese language and culture, she graduated from Ca’ Foscari University, Venice, and further specialised in Chinese art and archaeology at Nankai University, Tianjin, and The School of Oriental and African Studies, London. She was awarded a PhD in anthropology from University College London in 2010. She has written various publications on Chinese Art and lectures at the British Museum.

Luke Bodalbhai, Head of Fine Art

Luke BodalbhaiLuke read History at the University of Bristol where his studies focused upon the role of visual imagery in the European Reformation. Luke has significant experience as a researcher of old master and nineteenth century paintings and has a track record of successfully attributing many previously unknown works to notable artists, including the discovery of a lost work by William Powell Frith.  Luke recently oversaw the sale of a painting by Sir Winston Churchill at Boningtons for £203,000; his discovery of a photograph of Churchill painting the picture significantly added to its value.

Colin Hughes, Head of Probate

Colin HughesColin joined Boningtons following a successful career in management. A graduate from the London School of Economics, he has been involved in the antiques industry for many years as he comes from a family of antique dealers. He has been assigned to develop and oversee all aspects of the probate department.
