Antique Fob watch to auction We are now open for viewing for our forthcoming Interiors sale on Tuesday 26th August. There are some truly dazzling lots on offer with names such Fabergé, Vacheron& Constantin, Cartier & Meissen all represented amongst an extensive range of other good quality antiques and collectibles.

The sale looks set to get off to a flying start with a high quality selection of jewellery and objects de vertu, the highlights of which are undoubtedly two superb works by Fabergé – a carved marble figure of a rabbit (Lot 36, £2,000-3,000), and a silver Hare walking stick cane handle (Lot 40, £1,000-2,000). Both pieces date to the early 20th century and are in their original fitted cases.

Other notable pieces on view include a Vacheron and Constantin 18ct gold enamelled pendant watch (£400-600) which is the standout example amongst a number of ladies and gents watches in the auction. Silver is also in abundance, represented by some unusual pieces such as a Soviet silver, cloisonné and gilt cup and saucer (Lot 106, £150-250).

Elsewhere there are a healthy amount of pictures up for grabs including both good quality modern and traditional works by artists ranging from John Strevens to Sidney Yates Johnson. Two autograph books from the collection of the late footballer Jimmy Neighbour (1950-2009) look sure to attract good local interest when they go under the hammer on Tuesday (Lots 259 & 260), as does Lot 242, a cased 19th century brass carriage clock by Boseck of Calcutta (Lot 242, £600-800).

Silver Rabbit

It was another clock that proved to be the highlight of our last interiors auction on 11th August. A 19th century mahogany longcase clock eight-day movement signed ‘Edmund Sturgys of Dublin’, drew significant pre-sale interest and numerous bids, eventually selling in the room for £1,650. Other notable results included a fine 19th century stoneware urn planter by J Staff & Sons with matching plinth which sold online for £800, and a cased Georg Jensen silver utensil set which sold for a phone bidder on the Continent for £750.

Please note we will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday. Our next Interiors sale is on Monday 8th September.
