We are now open for viewing for our forthcoming Interiors auction on Monday 9th March. With almost 600 lots on offer it is well worth attending the view to witness our Loughton saleroom packed with a diverse array of quality jewellery, silver, clocks & watches, pictures, furniture, ceramics, stamps, ephemera, works of art & much more!
There is some dazzling jewellery up for grabs including an 18ct white gold champagne diamond solitaire (Lot 64, £5000-8000) & a fine 1.3ct period Deco square cut diamond solitaire (Lot 140, £2000-3000), whilst the watches are well represented by a boxed ladies Rolex Oyster Date just with diamond set indicators (Lot 211, £1500-2500) & an 18ct Movado Tempo-Matic watch (Lot 205, £1500-2500). Silver is also in abundance with some splendid pieces filling the cabinets, notably a large HM silver candelabra (Lot 230, £800-1200) & a three-piece Georgian silver tea set (Lot 229, £500-800).
Pictures proved to be some of the best sellers in last week’s Fine Art Auction & there are some more fine pieces gracing the saleroom walls ahead of Monday’s sale; these include some intriguing Old Masters, such as a 17th century oil on canvas depicting the deposition Christ (Lot 356, £400-600) & 19th century works by well listed artists including Henry Terry, Alfred Parsons, Robert Weir Allan, Sidney Yates Johnson & Claude Cardon. Likewise, the modern paintings include eye catching examples by Phil Beck, John Brunsdon, Clifford Webster & Marianne Grant.
The furniture includes two interesting child’s Orkney chairs retailed by Liberty & Co (Lots 424 & 425, each £200-300) & there is also a very healthy selection of clocks up for grabs, notably some striking long case examples. Finally, a strong range of collectibles, including a significant offering of Swarovski & Lladro, postcards & stamps look set to bring the auction to a fitting conclusion.
We would like to thank both the buyers & sellers who contributed to our fantastic Fine Art & Antique auction on Wednesday 25th February. There was strong bidding throughout the sale in the room, on the phones & internet resulting in some exceptional prices – photos of the highest achieving lots can be found on our Facebook page.
