We are now open for viewing for our Interiors sale on Monday 26th January. The sale includes an excellent selection of jewellery, clocks & watches, silver, pictures, furniture, ceramics, taxidermy, works of art & much more.
Highlights include a striking jade green bake lite telephone (Lot 270, £400-600, part of a collection of phones consigned to the sale), a good quality album of Victorian stamps to include penny blacks & reds (Lot 361, £300-500) & an HM silver teapot by Barnard, London, 1834 (Lot 65, £300-500).
Ceramics are also particularly strong with some notable examples up for grabs including significant Lladro figures of a Great Dane, Jester & Mozart (Lots 308-310), a Clarice Cliff Bizarre range geometrical shape vase (Lot 334, £200-300) & a Moorcroft 1937 Coronation bowl (Lot 333, £150-250).
Pictures are also in abundance, the standout works coming in the form of hand signed prints by Alistair Grant (Lot 120, £150-250) & George Frederick Watts (Lot 117, £100-150).
Our first sale of 2015 on 12th January saw strong bidding both online & in the saleroom, resulting in some excellent prices achieved throughout the auction. A boxed ladies Rolex Oyster Date just watch proved the pick of the lots on offer, selling for £1,300, whilst a 9ct Jaeger le Coultre gentleman’s wristwatch realised £320. Meanwhile a Futurama electric six-string guitar drew fierce bidding between an internet & room bidder before selling well above estimate to the latter for £460. And buyers were not deterred by the immense size of a 19th century ballroom mirror which again sold for £460 against a £200-300 estimate.
Our next Interiors sale is on Monday 9th February.
