The New Year may have only just begun but we are already open for viewing for our first sale of 2015 on Monday 12th January. Next week’s auction includes the usual diverse array of jewellery, silver, clock & watches, paintings, furniture, ceramics & much more.
Highlights amongst the jewellery include an 18ct gold & platinum Art Deco trilogy ring (Lot 17, £500-800), an 18ct diamond cluster ring (Lot 18, £400-600) & A marquise cut diamond solitaire (Lot 10, £400-600), whilst a boxed ladies Rolex Oyster Date-just watch (Lot 24, £1000-1500) is the standout timepiece of the sale which also includes examples by Omega & Jaeger Le Coultre.
There are some fine silver works on view including an HM silver Georgian teapot (Lot 41, £300-500) & a pair of HM silver Sabbath candlesticks (Lot 36, £300-400) & pictures are also well represented by the usual eclectic offering comprising some good quality paintings, prints & drawings ranging from the 19th century to the present day. Highlights include works by well listed artists such as Deborah Jones, Ronald Horsewell, Sheila Tiffin, Leonard Gordon Andrews & Edward Henry Fahey, as well as some very interesting, speculative early examples.
There is also a strong selection of furniture up for grabs such as an 18th century Welsh dresser (Lot 136, £500-800), a George II style gilt-wood marble topped console table (Lot 164, £300-500) & some high quality 17th century oak. Other highlights include a 19th century long case clock by John Bennett (Lot 180, £200-400), a circa 1900 cello bearing Stradivarius label (Lot 201, £1200-1800) as well as a strong selection of toys, ceramics & glassware.
