Fine Art & Antiques, February 2018

Our first Fine Art auction of the year generated huge interest with some extremely competitive bidding throughout the sale, not least from the 600+ clients who registered to bid online!

There were some particularly healthy prices achieved for Modern British Art including the below watercolour by John Piper which sold for a hammer price of £13,000. This was an extremely significant price for a work on paper by the artist and a sign of the strength of the present market.

Indeed, elsewhere there were similarly strong prices for works by Mary Fedden, Braaq, Peter Blake, Banksy & Peter Brown, with the Modern section alone cumulatively realising over £100,000.
