A Collection of Princess Margaret’s Jewellery Sold for £135,000

Boningtons were recently delighted to present for sale thirteen items of exquisite jewellery and objects d’art formerly in the Collection of Her Royal Highness, The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon.

The daughter of H.M. King George VI and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and the only sibling of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Margaret was renowned for her beauty and fashion sense, and an artsy entourage that included not only society figures but also show business celebrities and bohemians.

The combination of superb provenance and quality prove truly irresistible to collectors. Highlights included a small but perfectly formed Gold-Mounted Lapis Lazuli and Cut Glass Box by Fabergé, sold for £72,000, a diamond and enamel bracelet, circa 1842, sold for £21,500, and a Victorian turquoise and diamond bow brooch, sold for £13,000.
