Many people think of things like expensive centuries-old artwork or furniture when they think of antique sales. Their mistaken impressions lead them to believe that they could never afford antiques, so they never bother to explore an antique sale. While classic furniture certainly is a popular draw among antiques and a popular investment sale, there are many other types of antiques that can add a classic flavour to your home without you having to take out a second mortgage on it. Of particular note is what we call "mid range" antiques, which includes jewelry, kitchenware, artwork, glassware, and more.
We are still consigning for this sale and would welcome further Lots, please call the saleroom for a valuation or send a message using the form below
There are a few reasons people buy antiques. Many buy antique items as an investment. They seek to find rare items which can increase in monetary value over time. There are many others, however, who enjoy decorating with antiques. They look to antique sales to find pieces of their past, to inject a new style into their homes, or are just looking for a unique gift. Mid range antiques are perfect for this type of buyer.
These are items that won't necessarily draw the eyes of investors but nevertheless have a character and style straight out of the era from which they came. You can find furniture in this category, but you might also find glasses, silverware, or dishes to add some style to your kitchen. Paintings, drawings, or other wall decorations are also popular choices. Even utility items like classic radios, TVs, or appliances find their ways into many modern homes.
Decorating with antiques of this type doesn't require a large investment. Many of them are, in fact, extremely affordable for any person with a middle class income. Mid range antiques also make great gifts, whether for birthdays, anniversaries, housewarmings, or any number of other occasions. These items which have already withstood the test of time will make a lasting impression upon the person who receives it, one that you won't likely find at any regular store.
