Medals Win Over Boningtons Bidders

Monday 6th February saw record numbers brave treacherous icy conditions to attend the latest Vintage Antiques and Collectables sale at Boningtons Auctioneers. The reason: things in the saleroom were hotting up as a large private collection of medals went under the hammer. Not a single medal was left unsold as some competitive bidding, both within the room and on the phone, resulted in the collection realising a total just short of £12500. The packed saleroom also saw several other interesting lots achieve significant prices, including an 18th century pestle and mortar (£500), a large quantity of gold sovereigns (£210 each) and a small selection of pot lids which made £360 due to one rare example.
