We were pleased to consign over the counter 2 Concerntina’s from separate sources found whilst clearing out relatives deceased estates. A Boningtons valuer decided they should be entered into a fortnightly Antiques and Collectables sale. The first instrument, a Chenal and Co. model in its original wooden box and in good order achieved £1,500* against an estimate of £300 to £500. Clarice Cliff

Another fortnight flew by and here we were again with another full Auction room. The highlight for me last week was a home visit to a ladies house in Essex who had managed to buy a Clarice Cliff vase at a local jumble sale for £0.50. Telling the lady we estimated the vase between £400 and £600 gave her a massive shock and me great pleasure. The vase was a 1932 Bizarre ‘Moonlight’ pattern, 360 shaped handpainted with a stylised tree and flower landscape and in A1 condition.
